M. Stanton Evans is an intellectual conservative, prominent journalist and prolific author who was a longtime editor for National Review in its early years, and for Human Events after that. His focus was more on economic and foreign policy issues than on social issues. He wrote a book in stirring and persuasive defense of Joseph McCarthy. In 2013, he wrote a column warning Republicans about the political consequences of liberal-promoted immigration "reform". [1]

Evans criticized Roe v. Wade and Supreme Court decisions opening the floodgates to pornography in his book Clear and Present Dangers: A Conservative View of America’s Government (1975).
