An good educational curriculum should achieve the following seven goals for a student:

  • excellent reading skills (see Reading)
  • superb writing skills
  • basic math skills
  • knowledge of American and World History (see American History and World History)
  • understanding of politics and government
  • appreciation of free-market economic principles (see Economics)
  • good test-taking skills

In addition, some marketable skills, such as the ability to write computer programs, would be beneficial. (See Web design)
